Personal Care
Our personal care additives are a range of products designed to give personal care formulators a variety of bio-based options.
Personal care products are getting even more personal as consumers look for bio-based alternatives over synthetic options.
INCI: Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate
Biobased content: 95% (Beta Analytic Testing Laboratory)
Use level: 1% - 6%
Appeal: Stir directly into emulsions, turning lotions into creams with excellent aesthetics and rheology. Can be added at room temperature with minimal shear required, providing a linear viscosity response.
INCI: Hydrolyzed Corn Starch Hydroxyethyl Ether
Biobased content: 100% (Beta Analytic Testing Laboratory)
Use level: 0.5% - 1.0%
Appeal: Add to oil phase for reduction of work necessary to create such nontraditional ‘emulsifier free’ formulations as polymer microgel or Pickering emulsions. Can be post-added to conventionally-stabilized emulsions for stability enhancement.
INCI: Maltodextrin
Biobased content: 100% (Beta Analytic Testing Laboratory)
Use level: 1% - 2%
Appeal: Works alongside oil-phase film formers to create a total formulation water-resistance package. When blended with ZEMEA Propanediol, films are not tacky or sticky. Also, may provide moisture barrier, moisturization, anti-aging, and anti-irritation properties. In addition, can function as a hair fixative.
INCI: Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate
Use level: 0.1% - 0.5%
Biobased content: 94% (Beta Analytic Testing Laboratory)
Appeal: The addition of small amounts to clear surfactant-based cleansing systems can increase foam stability and aesthetics. Especially appealing in sulfate-free systems.
INCI: Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate
Use level: 5% - 7%
Biobased content: 96%
Appeal: Make clear ‘natural’ eye gels or hair styling gels with minimal effort and excellent aesthetics.
